The Fourth
I do not like loud noises. I do not like airplanes. I do not like loud noises that come right after talking about the weird flight patterns that airplanes were taking that day (over our building and straight up like a rocket ship.) When the Blue Angels flew over my pool chair on the Fourth of July, I thought I was about to meet my maker. And then when the parade of military planes kept coming — including another fighter jet group and a SECOND pass by the Blue Angels — I was a mess. But I managed to get photos!

Un-Instagrammed photo so you can see just how close they were (Storrow Drive is on the other side of this wall and the Hatch Shell is upstream to the left.)

Hope you all had a wonderful Fourth! We spent ours lounging at the pool (when I wasn’t hiding under my chair), eating lobster rolls, watching the Jaws marathon, napping, and seeing about 2 minutes of the Boston fireworks live from outside our building and the rest on TV from the couch after it stared to pour. While I had fun, I admit I was yearning for Provincetown all day.
