Buckys on the Channel
What a great weekend! One day it was in the 70s and the next it was cooler but crisp with that bright October sun that’s been missing most of the month.
On Saturday, I took a walk to Fort Point Channel to see the public art display, Buckys on the Channel. A buckyball is a geometric shape made up of 32 faces using hexagons and pentagons. Most of us are familiar with Geodesic domes. That’s a buckyball, and it gets its name from Buckminster Fuller who may not have invented it but certainly made it popular.
And I really love things that float on water! These buckys, made from pool noodles, add such a lovely pop of color to the Boston landscape. And they are fun to watch as they float around, the tides and the winds moving them in the water. The display is there until November 10 so go take a look if you have a chance!
