Random No. 6

The randomness on my mind lately …

CT — Soooo …. this past week, the Mr. and I met up for a quick drink after work. He’s on a first name basis with a lot of people on the other side of the bar in this city. One of those people mentioned that there was going to be a fashion show later that evening. And then she mentioned that someone from the Real World would be hosting. What? Who??!??? “Um, CT,” she said. I think my hands flew in the air in wild circles as I tried to grasp what she had just said. You may not know this, but I have seen every single episode of the Real World, Road Rules, Challenge/Inferno/Gauntlet, reunion special, and special clip ever made. EVER. And CT is legendary! (Johhny Bananas backpack, anyone?) She also totally hooked us up with seats at the bar downstairs in the VIP section. Next. To. CT. True story.

(When he walked around the bar, I took this photo, hiding my iPhone discretely behind the straws.)

Ivory — As I looked longingly at my white linen pants in my closet this week, I came to the brilliant realization that I did not have to go back to black (like every other person in Boston seemed to do the minute we all turned our calendars to the September page. Geesh!) Ivory, winter white, cream. It’s like WHITE! (I even started an Ivory Pinterest board.)

State of WonderMy book club met this week to discuss our summer book (and to meet the new baby in the group!). I definitely recommend reading this if you haven’t already. It’s gotten quite the buzz since it came out last summer. Although I would be the last person to head into the jungle, I found myself completely mesmerized by the place that Ms. Patchett conjured in her book. I could feel the bugs biting at my neck, the weight of the air, and hear the sounds of the jungle animals at night. Fantastic!

My new iPhone wallpaper — I am in love with my sparkly, chevron-y wallpaper, courtesy of Shrimp Salad Circus. I learned about her blog in an online Alt class that we took together and have become a huge fan of hers. She regularly has great freebies for your desktop and i-products. You can get yours, too, right here!

WallanderHave you been watching this on Masterpiece on PBS? Kenneth Branagh is always incredible. And the stark, ethereal, depressing, yet completely gorgeous cinematography is just stunning. The last episode in the series airs tonight.

I quit! — You may have noticed that I have not posted an update on my monthly project series since the end of May. After failing for three consecutive months to really engage in my project, I’m calling it quits. I still love the idea of doing a whole year of these and, next time I try it, I’ll leave more time for planning.

BUT, my Project 365 is still going strong! You can see all my photos from the year here.
