Os Gemeos Mural in Boston

Os Gemeos (The Twins) have a show at the ICA Boston through November (on my to do list!) and they were here to create three original murals in town. I’ve only had a chance to see one so far. And this one has caused a bit of a stir, but I’m pretty sure it’s meant to be talked about. Just perhaps not in the way that some Bostonians have. My own opinion is this: if you approach everything with a sense of curiosity, you’ll always get something good out of it. Figure things out for yourself.

Take a look at Os Gemeos’ webpage for more information about them (if you scroll down, you’ll see that they spraypainted the flying pig in the Roger Waters concert in LA and Sao Paolo. Yes, the beloved and much-celebrated-to-the-point-it’s-almost-mythical flying pig that I haven’t stopped talking about since 1994.) And if you are in town, you can’t miss it in Dewey Square near South Station.

A few views of the mural (the close-ups of the detailing are pretty amazing) …

The other two murals are on the Revere Hotel and in Inman Square, on Mama Gina’s restaurant.
