The Dotted Door
I’m totally not a Do-It-Yourself Girl. (I mean, really. Can’t you just buy that?) But I am a big fan of wall graphics. And you have to put those up yourself.

I’ve had these polka dot decals for some time and wasn’t sure what I was going to do with them. Aren’t they pretty?

I’m partial to ocean colors and love the soothing effect of blues and greens. After separating those out, I decided to put one on each door in the back hallway — the bathrooms, the closets, our bedroom, the office.

My aesthetic taste — beyond the blues and greens — tends to include a lot of white space, flat crisp geometric graphics, bright colors, and the occasional glitter or sparkle thrown in. The result of all that looks something like this (sans glitter, this is a sparkle-free project.)

You can see a vintage Blik graphic in the background below. I have a whole wall of these, which were some of the first designs produced by the company.

And this photo is taken from our office, which I often call the Girl Nest but am slowly but surely turning into the Juniper Disco Lounge. More on that to come!

And the whole thing took me about 5 minutes. Boring white doors turned into modern, quirky, colorful works of art. In your face, Martha Stewart!
